Just the Five of Us
COLLINGSWOOD STAYS HOME
MARCH, 2020
What has been the weirdest or most difficult part of this time for you and your family?: Navigating the strangness/anxiousness of what's going on while having to explain it all to our two older boys, all the while still coping with all that comes after having a baby. It's been an emotional rollercoaster, for sure!
What is your silver lining? What have you been enjoying about these days at home?: Spending the time together, just the five of us. My husband is on paternity leave so we're able to help each other with the homeschooling aspect and take turns playing with the older two or calming a cranky baby. It's been nice when we can block out what's happening outside our house and just live in our little bubble, enjoying each other.
Why is this time meaningful for you to document?: Our baby was born into this crazy piece of history and our other two boys are old enough that this is disrupting their norm, and they are confused and sometimes sad but also having a great time getting to have Mommy and Daddy as teachers and having recess in their own backyard and getting more iPad time than usual because being a teacher is really hard work and Mommy and Daddy need a break! I want to be able to look back upon our early days as a family of five and remember the bonding that took place and how much emotion coursed through our home, from the tiny guys to the super hormonal Mommy.
What do you love most about Collingswood?: This town is magical and you see it in the people here. Putting aside the silly Facebook bickering, which exists in every town, the people here are amazing and supportive and kind, to those they know and those they don't.
